Purpose:

The purpose of Open Door Community Church Motorcycle Ministry is to glorify God by mobilizing the resources entrusted to the ministry for the fulfillment of Christ’s commission to make disciples of all nations. Our mission is to realize the vision for Open Door Community Church Motorcycle Ministry by:

We know that our community goes beyond the four walls of our church and those who worship here. We desire to truly see the needs of our neighbors and allow god to meet them through us. The good news is that He can make a difference in the life of everyone in our community; here in Virginia, across our country, and around the world.

What We Are and Are Not...

He is not calling our local church to house a biker club, for that is an attempt to define its worth through its ministry; but in the same respect, He is not calling us to leave our church to minister. He is calling our church to cover us and equip us to do what God has called us to do. God is calling us to stand under the cover of our church and to live-out that which he has called.

To point at a ministry and say, “look at what we have done” is the fallacy of centuries of church polity! To reach the world through ministry is God’s vision, regardless of who gets the credit. Everything belongs to God...

1. The complete vision is not just to bring those who are unchurched to a relationship with Jesus, but also to bring those who are “playing church” into a relationship with Jesus. 

2. The complete vision is not to simply bring the unchurched into church, but also to unchurch the church. Thereby having a functioning body of Christ that expresses who He is, whether inside or outside the four walls of the church.

3. We will use motorcycles, music, tattoos, as well as academics, logic, and theology to reach any person in our circle our influence.

4. We can speak the language of the bikers, military members, as well as the learned Christian. As Paul said, “I have become all things to all men.”

5. The vision is not to make the scholar a biker, or the biker a scholar, but to make all mankind to be that which God has called them to be.

6. We do not live for God, He lives in us.

7. We do not ask that God be with us in what we are doing, but that we will be with Him in what He is doing.

8. The letter of the Law kills, for that is its purpose; but the grace of God brings life, and that is the purpose of ministry.
